The “Catasta” collection tells you the story of how galottas were brought to new life: they are the perfect example of Noble Waste, resulting from the cut of blown glass and having the same characteristics of the glass from which it is divided. In this case, Fucina Frammenti studied the shape of the waste from objects defined by rotating solids.
By carefully selecting the pieces and operating precise cuts, it was possible to reconstruct new objects using only the waste glass. The scrap is thus redeveloped, recomposing the different parts into one single object which still carries the memory of all its parts. The various colours and textures are not erased or flattened, butrather accentuated and ennobled. The simple matching of a diameter allows the creation of a new meaningful volume.
